About the Indiana Dermatological Society

Providing Value for Members

The IAD holds business meetings twice yearly in conjunction with the clinical and educational meetings that are organized and conducted by the Indiana University Department of Dermatology.  Members of the IAD participate in a variety of events to promote general health, to encourage sun protection, and to increase awareness about skin surveillance.  The Academy also monitors and works to influence legislation at the State level to promote the safe practice of Medicine and Dermatology in Indiana and to guide public health policy for all Indiana residents.

About the Indiana Academy of Dermatology

The Indiana Academy of Dermatology was established in 1975 as the Indiana Dermatological Society.  The name of our organization was changed when the bylaws were updated and approved by our membership, May 2, 2007.  Currently, the Academy has over 90 members, most of whom are dermatologists practicing in the state of Indiana.  The objectives of the Indiana Academy of Dermatology are to encourage the advancement of dermatology and dermatologic surgery in Indiana, to promote high ethical standards and excellence in patient care, to facilitate continuing medical education and fraternal relations among its members, and to participate in activities to further the welfare of the medical profession, our communities, and the patients we serve.
